Boney M

Disco group formed in West Germany in the mid-seventies by producer Frank Farian, who wrote the songs and recorded the male vocals in the studio. Its classic line-up comprised Liz Mitchell and Marcia Barrett, from Jamaica, Maizie Williams, from Montserrat, and Bobby Farrell, from Aruba. They blended disco, funk and reggae in songs such as “Daddy Cool”, “Ma Baker” and “Rasputin”, and in 1978 “Rivers of Babylon” and “Mary's Boy Child / Oh My Lord” topped the UK chart. Since the eighties, various line-ups have performed under the group's name.

Boney M appears in the line-ups of 3 festivals in ModoFestival's calendar.
