Raphael

Singer born in Linares (Jaén) in 1943 as Miguel Rafael Martos Sánchez, and a performer of ballads and melodic song. He recorded his first records in 1959, with Philips. He represented Spain at Eurovision in 1966 with ‘Yo soy aquel’ and in 1967 with ‘Hablemos del amor’, the year in which ‘Mi gran noche’ and ‘Digan lo que digan’ were also released. In the eighties he added ‘Qué sabe nadie’ and ‘Como yo te amo’, and in 1992, ‘Escándalo’. In 2018 he was named an adopted son of Madrid.
