Miguel Ríos

A singer-songwriter from Granada born in 1944, he made his debut in the early 1960s as Mike Ríos, nicknamed ‘the King of Twist’. His adaptation of Beethoven’s ‘Himno a la alegría’, arranged by Waldo de los Ríos, became a worldwide hit in its English version, ‘A Song of Joy’. In 1982 he released ‘Rock & Ríos’, a double live album that became the best-selling record of his career, and in 1987 he presented ‘¡Qué noche la de aquel año!’ on TVE, a look back at the history of rock in Spain.

Miguel Ríos appears in the line-ups of 3 festivals in ModoFestival's calendar.
