Festivals in León

León runs on two calendars. The first is concentrated between June and July in El Bierzo: Musicamino mixes indie and folk in Villafranca del Bierzo, Observatorio Festival focuses on dance and experimental music in Balboa, and Planeta Sound programmes indie and pop in Ponferrada.

The second arrives with the cold and stays in the capital. Lion Rock Fest brings together rock and metal in November at the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones de León, and Purple Weekend closes the year in December with rock and punk at Espacio Vías. Between the two, Modorrowland Fest takes rock and pop to Joarilla de las Matas in August.
