Ortiga

Ortiga is the solo project of Manuel González, Chicho, a musician from Santiago de Compostela who was previously part of the duo Esteban & Manuel, where he came up with so-called cumbiatune. He debuted in 2019 with «Chicho & sus chichas» and in 2021 released «Sabes el camino que elegí» with Ernie Records. His sound updates the Galician verbena with merengue, cumbia, salsa, funk and autotune, and his collaborations include a version of the folk song «Eu chorar chorei» as a duet with Pili Pampín.

Ortiga appears in the line-ups of 5 festivals in ModoFestival's calendar. Next date: Caudal Fest (Lugo), 17–18 Sep 2027.
