About the festival
Folk & Metal Fest Valencia 2026 has already taken place. Here you can find the dates, line-up and practical information for that edition.
Folk & Metal Fest Valencia 2026 held its first edition on 23 May at Sala Repvblicca, with a night devoted to folk metal, party metal and guitars with epic roots. The event brought together Lepoka, Hadadanza, Salduie, Khelleden and Finnway on a line-up designed for club audiences, the metal community and fans of bands that turn the live show into a collective celebration.
The first edition is now behind us, but it left a fairly clear picture of the festival's spirit: a compact, specialised event with no stylistic sprawl, the kind that works when the audience knows exactly what it has come for.
What Folk & Metal Fest Valencia 2026 was
The event arrived in Valencia with a very specific approach: bringing together on a single night several ways of understanding folk metal, from the festive, tavern-style tone to more melodic, narrative metal. It was not a large-scale festival, but a scene event, close-up and sweaty, as club gigs are.
The choice of Sala Repvblicca fitted that idea. The venue, located in the Mislata area, is part of the rock and metal circuit in the València area, with the capacity for high-volume nights and an audience used to experiencing gigs close to the stage.
Folk & Metal Fest Valencia 2026 line-up
- Lepoka, one of the most recognisable names in Spanish festive folk metal.
- Hadadanza, with a melodic folk metal style and a narrative spirit.
- Salduie, a band from Zaragoza associated with epic metal and historical inspiration.
- Khelleden, bringing a strand of fantasy-rooted metal to the night as a whole.
- Finnway, rounding off the programme of the first Valencia edition.
Valencia, the venue and the metal community
For those travelling from elsewhere, the plan worked as a one-night getaway: a gig, the city and the journey home with the echo of a very specific line-up. Valencia offered accommodation, urban transport and an active music scene, but an out-of-centre venue always calls for careful checking of return times, taxis or Metrovalencia connections.
Folk metal does not always take centre stage at the big festivals, but it retains a loyal fan base that is very active at live shows. In that context, Folk & Metal Fest Valencia made sense precisely because of its scale: bringing together like-minded bands, avoiding stylistic sprawl and building a night with shared codes.
If the project returns with a second edition, it will have room to grow without losing its character as a scene gathering: a recognisable line-up, a suitable venue and an audience that understands folk metal as celebration, epic and community.
