Festivals in Valencian Community

Alicante and Valencia account for most of the festivals in the Valencian Community. Castellón has fewer events, but two very distinct hubs: Benicàssim, home to FIB and Rototom Sunsplash Benicàssim, and Burriana, which hosts Arenal Sound. Benidorm, Villena and Castelló de la Plana each host several events.

Pop and rock are the most common genres, followed by indie, urban music and reggaeton. Most of the calendar falls in July and August, when Low Festival takes place at Parque Antonio Soria in Torrevieja and Medusa Festival brings techno to the beach at Cullera.

The Valencian season is already under way before the summer. SanSan Festival Benicàssim and Costa Sonora kick off in March, and May is the busiest month after July and August, with events such as Deleste Festival in València, Nómade Festival in Fontanars dels Alforins and Festival Rocanrola, which is spread across April and May at the Multiespacio Rabasa in Alicante.

Villena is home to several rock and metal events: Leyendas del Rock, Rabo Lagartija and Aúpa Lumbreiras!! are all held there, the last two in August. The circuit is rounded off by Elda Rock in June and Festival Poma Rock, in Agres, also in August.

In autumn the action shifts to the cities. Visor Fest takes over the Marina Norte in València in September, and Castellón follows Capla Festival in October, at the Recinto de Ferias y Mercados, with Fira Trovam in November, at the Auditori de Castelló. Onda rounds off the calendar with Fira d’Onda in October.
