Rabo Lagartija

Rabo Lagartija was the rock, mestizaje and ska festival that filled the Polideportivo Municipal de Villena (Alicante) every August. It is no longer running: the 2025 edition, headlined by La Raíz, was the last, and in August 2026 Villena brought back the historic Aúpa Lumbreiras!! at the same venue.

An August festival in Villena

Rabo Lagartija moved between rock, ska, rap and mestizaje, with several days of music, a camping area and a swimming pool for festival-goers. Among the acts who played its stage was SFDK, who headlined the additions to the 2024 line-up.

The last edition: 2025

Rabo Lagartija 2025 took place in mid-August at the Villena sports centre, with La Raíz as the main draw and El Drogas among the confirmed names. The festival sold full passes and day tickets, and published the stage times on 13 August 2025. This is the latest news on its official website.

What we know now

There will be no more editions of Rabo Lagartija: there was no festival in 2026 and none is planned for 2027. No cancellation announcement was made: the return of Aúpa Lumbreiras!! was presented as the festival's successor, following the end of the Rabo Lagartija era.

Aúpa Lumbreiras!!, the punk and rock festival that was born in 1994 in Puerto Lumbreras and said goodbye in Villena in 2014, held its «The Return» edition from 13 to 15 August 2026 at the same Polideportivo Municipal. Some ticketing sites still show Rabo Lagartija dates for 2026, but with no tickets on sale and no backing from the organisers.
