Benidorm Fest 2027: what we know

RTVE will present the participants in the sixth edition on Wednesday 14 October 2026 at Prado del Rey. The rules set out 16 places, which may be extended to 20, chosen from the nearly 900 songs received in the open call, which closed on 30 July. Sources within the organisation quoted by EFE place the festival between 23 and 30 January 2027, but RTVE has not yet published an official schedule or put tickets on sale.

It has also not been decided whether the winner will represent Spain at Eurovision 2027: the president of RTVE has proposed maintaining the withdrawal, and the decision lies with its Board of Directors. We explain this in our news story on the presentation of the Benidorm Fest 2027 artists.

How the 2026 edition went

Benidorm Fest 2026 in Benidorm (Alicante) held its official shows in February 2026 at the Palau d’Esports L’Illa de Benidorm: the first semi-final took place on 10 February, the second semi-final on 12 February and the grand final on 14 February. This edition ran as a standalone event, following RTVE's confirmation in December 2025 that Spain would not take part in Eurovision 2026; RTVE stated that the EBU's decision would not affect the staging of Benidorm Fest.

The format of the fifth edition kept two semi-finals of nine entries each, with six qualifying from each semi-final to make up a final of 12 performances. RTVE announced the 18 participating artists and published the running order and the songs competing in the edition.

Benidorm Fest 2026 line-up

The 18 artists announced by RTVE who took part in Benidorm Fest 2026 were Asha; Atyat; Dani J; Dora & Marlon Collins; Funambulista; Greg Taro; Izan Llunas; Kenneth; KITAI; KU Minerva; Luna Ki; María León with Julia Medina; MAYO; Mikel Herzog Jr.; Miranda! & bailamamá; Rosalinda Galán; The Quinquis; and Tony Grox & LUCYCALYS.

Twelve of those artists reached the final after the two semi-finals, among them Kenneth, Mikel Herzog Jr., Izan Llunas, María León ft. Julia Medina, KITAI, Tony Grox & LUCYCALYS and Miranda!, according to the qualification results published during the shows.

Prizes and new features of the 2026 edition

For the first time in the contest's history, a total cash prize of 150,000 euros was established, split into 100,000 euros for the performers and 50,000 euros for the songwriters. The edition also introduced partner prizes, including a Spotify award and promotion and recording deals with international labels and media, such as reported agreements with Univisión/Telemundo. RTVE and its partners also announced the launch of Benidorm Fest Junior in collaboration with Clan.

Results of the 2026 edition

The winners of Benidorm Fest 2026 were Tony Grox & LUCYCALYS with the song "T AMARÉ": they scored a total of 166 points, took home the Sirenita de Oro and received the cash prize set by the organisers. Asha came second, and Rosalinda Galán was among the top places, according to the tallies reported by the press. News coverage published the breakdown of the vote by segment (jury, demoscopic panel and televote); for example, some reports gave the winner a breakdown of 82 points from the jury, 36 from the demoscopic panel and 48 from the televote. RTVE published the total scores and a report on the show.

Context regarding Eurovision 2026

In December 2025 RTVE announced that Spain would not take part in Eurovision 2026 following the EBU's decision to allow Israel to participate. For that reason, Benidorm Fest 2026 was held as a contest with its own identity and without the status of official selection for Eurovision 2026; RTVE noted that the decision did not prevent the festival from being held in Benidorm.
