Urban music festivals in Spain

Urban music crosses over mainly with pop, as at Cruïlla in the Parc del Fòrum or Zevra Festival Cullera, and secondly with reggaeton, at touring brands such as Puro Latino and Negrita Music Festival. Electronic music also joins the mix, for example in Galicia, with Marisquiño in Vigo and Festival Flotante Barbos in Baiona.

July is by far the busiest month. Madrid, Alicante and Pontevedra lead the way, and the two Canary Islands provinces have several festivals between them, including Granca Live Fest in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Outside July, there are events for much of the year. In spring, Festival Rocanrola takes over the Multiespacio Rabasa in Alicante between April and May, and LOS40 Primavera Pop takes place in Madrid in April; El Muelle Live, also in Alicante, runs from March to August. September brings Recorda Fest at the Muelle de Batería in A Coruña and Iwa Fest in Melilla, and October Festival Focart in Avilés.

The crossover with rock gives a different profile: Madrid Salvaje and Vive Latino, at the Espacio Expo in Zaragoza, are usually held in September; Pirata Beach Festival takes place in July and Festival ContraCultura, in Puente Genil (Córdoba), in August.

Asturias has its own circuit, with Boombastic Asturias in Llanera in July, Songs for an Ewan Day in Salinas in August and Corazonadas Oviedo in September.
