How the music is organised
The organisers structure the music side around three main strands. On the one hand, new urban sounds, where rap, trap, mutant pop and artists with a strong online following sit side by side. On the other, a strand focused on the roots of DJ and MC culture, with sound system, dub, reggae, freestyle and turntablism. And finally, a block of underground electronic music and club culture with Galician and Portuguese acts.
The press release places this music programme mainly between 7 and 9 August at Samil, while the festival as a whole keeps its overall dates of 6 to 9 August.
What to expect from Marisquiño 2026
Marisquiño works differently from a conventional music festival. Music is an important part of the programme, but it sits alongside sports competitions and exhibitions that turn Samil into an open-air urban venue for several days. The atmosphere usually mixes local audiences, visitors travelling to Vigo in August and fans of disciplines such as skateboarding, BMX, breaking and freestyle.
When planning your visit, the most important thing will be to keep a close eye on the release of the day-by-day programme, the stage layout and the travel and access advice for Samil. Entry remains free.
