Festivals in Galicia

Pontevedra and A Coruña are home to most of the festivals in Galicia, with Santiago de Compostela, Vigo and A Coruña being the cities with the most events. Lugo and Ourense complete the map with more scattered offerings, such as Osa do Mar in Burela or Caudal Fest in the city of Lugo.

Rock is the most common style, followed by pop and indie, and folk has a presence of its own at events such as Festival de Ortigueira or PortAmérica, at the Azucarera de Portas, both in July. July is the busiest month, but September keeps up a fair amount of activity, with the reggaeton of Recorda Fest at the Muelle de Batería in A Coruña or the rock of FeneRock Festival San Valentín.

In the province of Pontevedra, Vigo combines Marisquiño, with electronic, pop and urban music in August, with the indie and pop of Galicia Fest in June. The summer is also shared between Sanxenxo, with Costa Feira, Bueu, with SonRías Baixas, Vilagarcía de Arousa and Baiona, while May brings the reggae of Millo Verde, in Redondela, and Acapulpo Reggae Solidario, in Moaña.

Santiago de Compostela is the Galician city with the most festivals. WOS Festival spreads electronic music and techno across venues such as the Teatro Principal, the Iglesia de la Universidad and the Parque de Bonaval, and the city's calendar also includes O Son Do Camiño in June and O Gozo Festival in July.

There are also events outside the summer: Invernia Fest in February, ExpoRock Festival in March, at EXPOCoruña, and Underfest Xacobeo in November, in Vigo. In Ourense, Ou Yeah! Festival runs from June to October.
