About the festival

The Festival Acento in Santiago de Compostela does not yet have a date for 2027. Its last two editions were held on 21 June, European Music Day, with free entry and three Galician artists. The Fundación SGAE, which organises it with support from the Xunta, announces the line-up just a few days beforehand.

What to expect from Acento 2027

There has been no official announcement of the eighth edition and no artists have been confirmed. What has stayed the same over the latest editions of this series, which began in 2019, is the concept: a showcase of contemporary Galician music, with a short line-up of three acts, free entry until capacity is reached and the SGAE headquarters in Vista Alegre park as the stage.

The announcement window is short. In 2026 the line-up was revealed in mid-June and the official presentation took place on the 19th, two days before the concert; in 2025 the presentation was also on 19 June. In 2027, 21 June falls on a Monday, and the organisers have not said whether they will keep the exact date or move it to the weekend.

A free concert at the SGAE headquarters

Acento has no festival site: it takes place in the SGAE building in Santiago, designed by Ensamble Studio within the Vista Alegre estate. The format has also been changing. In 2025 the concerts began at 20:30 in the building's atrium; in 2026 they moved to the terrace and to a midday slot, as a vermouth session from 12:30.

That small scale is its whole point. Rather than competing with Galicia's big summer festivals, Acento is a chance to hear live artists who are starting to make their mark outside Galicia or who blend tradition with urban sounds.

How Acento 2026 went

The seventh edition was held on Sunday 21 June 2026 and was dedicated to Galician artists building their careers outside Galicia. Opening at 12:30 was Dani Cornes, a musician from O Grove based in Barcelona, with songs from his debut album, Aquí sempre tés casa, about emigration and distance. At 13:30 A Coruña's Javi Chapela took the stage; based in Madrid, he makes indie pop-rock with a strong connection to A Coruña, as heard in songs such as Marineda.

Closing at 14:45 was Vigo's Sila Lua, who presented Danza de Amor e veneno accompanied by producer Grieta Ch'aska and a string trio. We covered the line-up in our news story on Acento 2026 in Santiago.

Previous editions

In 2025, the sixth edition brought together Lua de Santana, 9Rubio and the Santiago duo Boyanka Kostova, pioneers of trap in Galician, who closed the night, on Saturday 21 June. Other acts to have played the festival include Tanxugueiras, Grande Amore, Caamaño & Ameixeiras, Carlos Ares, Blanco Palamera, Néboa and De Vacas, a list that clearly shows its mix of revitalised folk, pop and the urban scene.
