HOFE

HOFE is the project of Navarrese singer Igotz Méndez, who began making a name for himself on the Basque underground scene in 2018 as part of the Nibbass collective. With producers Xabier Lafuente and Marcos Galech, of the duo 4:40, he released the album ‘Amodioa’ (2022), on Oso Polita, and the EP ‘Amorrua’ (2023) as HOFE x 4:40. The titles mean ‘love’ and ‘hate’ in Basque. His sound is electronic and draws on trap, new wave and synth pop, with danceable choruses and lyrics full of film references.
