About the festival
AbroadFest is an electronic music festival aimed at international students spending a semester in Barcelona, which has been held in late February or early March at various nightclubs in the city. The most recent edition on public record is the one in March 2024, and as of 14 October 2026 no edition has been announced for 2027, after the 2026 edition failed to materialise.
A student festival that grew with EDM
AbroadFest was launched in 2013 by the promoters De Lis Group and Prime Social Group, with a single night and around 2,000 students who travelled to Barcelona for the occasion. Its audience comes mainly from study abroad programmes, with a strong presence of students from the United States.
The festival gradually added days and venues. In 2019, for its seventh edition, it took over Shôko from 28 February to 2 March with Tiësto on the line-up. In 2020 it was announced at the Sant Jordi Club, a venue it used again for the edition held from 3 to 5 March 2022.
The last known edition: March 2024
In March 2024 the festival was spread across Pachá, Input and Shôko, with American rapper Yung Gravy and DJ and producer NGHTMRE among the headliners. It fell on the same weekend as Springfest, another festival aimed at the same audience, and, as we reported at the time on ModoFestival, between them they attracted more than 30,000 young people of different nationalities.
There are no verified dates, venues or line-up for 2025.
What is known about AbroadFest today
The festival's official website only shows a "coming soon" notice for AbroadFest 2026, with no dates, venues or line-up. Some listings went as far as placing that edition from 6 to 9 March 2026, while other festival websites mark it as cancelled, with Shôko as the planned venue. There is no official statement confirming either, but March 2026 came and went without the festival announcing dates or a line-up.
Nor has an edition been announced for March 2027, and no tickets are on sale.
