In short
- Damien Rice will play Madrid on Tuesday 30 March 2027, at the Teatro Lope de Vega on the Gran Vía, his only date in Spain for now.
- The tour celebrates 25 years of “O”, his 2002 debut, recorded at home, which gave us The Blower's Daughter and Cannonball.
- The presale starts on Wednesday 21 October at 10:00, with prior registration on the artist's website; general sale follows on Friday 23 at the same time via Last Tour.
- Lisbon is the other nearby stop: in March the tour visits Dublin, the Portuguese capital and Madrid before continuing around Europe.
Twenty-five years after releasing “O”, Damien Rice is returning to that album with an anniversary tour that has just one stop in Spain, at least for now: Tuesday 30 March 2027 at the Teatro Lope de Vega in Madrid. Promoter Last Tour puts tickets on sale on Friday 23 October at 10:00, and before that, on Wednesday 21, there will be a presale.
A concert in a theatre on the Gran Vía
The tour mainly visits theatres and concert halls, and in Madrid the venue is the Teatro Lope de Vega, at number 57 on the Gran Vía, which opened in 1949. It is a format that suits a repertoire built on voice, acoustic guitar and silences, a far cry from big arenas.
The show is listed on the schedule of Last Tour, the Basque promoter behind Azkena Rock Festival. According to La Ganzúa, Rice returns to Madrid four years after his last visit. Neither the start time nor prices have been published yet.

Why “O” deserves a tour of its own
O came out in February 2002 on Rice's own label. He wrote, recorded and produced it at home, with the backing of film composer David Arnold, after breaking away from his previous record deal, as Dod Magazine and La Ganzúa recall. It produced The Blower's Daughter, Cannonball and Volcano, the songs for which much of the public still knows him.
His studio discography is short: after O came only 9 (2006) and My Favourite Faded Fantasy (2014). This anniversary goes back to the first of the three, the one that still holds his best-known songs.
Tickets: presale on 21 October and general sale on 23 October
- Presale: Wednesday 21 October, at 10:00 (local time in each city). You need to register beforehand on Damien Rice's official website.
- General sale: Friday 23 October, at 10:00, via Last Tour.
Prices are not yet known. With a theatre capacity and a single date in the country, it makes sense to have your account and payment method ready before Friday.
Where else Damien Rice is playing in 2027
The official schedule kicks off in February in Australia, moves through Asia until early March and reaches Europe that same month, with Dublin (two nights at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre), Lisbon (Coliseu dos Recreios) and Madrid. In April it continues to Rome, Zurich, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, London and Manchester, and ends in May in the Americas, with São Paulo, Mexico City, Chicago, Toronto, New York and Los Angeles. The artist's website says that two cities are still to be confirmed.
Before March, Madrid's winter already has another date with concerts in clubs and theatres: Inverfest, which in January and February programmes shows at Sala El Sol and Teatro Circo Price.
