About the festival
Astral Plane 2026 was conceived as an electronic music festival built around the total solar eclipse of 12 August, but its first edition has been cancelled. The project was due to take place from 10 to 12 August 2026 in La Pinilla, Segovia, before moving on to other locations under the name Iberia Eclipse Festival.
This listing keeps the original dates and venue so that the cancelled edition can be correctly identified. No tickets are on sale, and no one should travel to La Pinilla, Vinuesa or Cabrillanes to attend the festival. The eclipse will still take place, but the associated music programme will no longer go ahead.
Astral Plane will not take place in La Pinilla
The original plan announced three days of electronic music at the La Pinilla mountain resort, in the Sierra de Ayllón. Its distinguishing feature was that it coincided with the total eclipse of 12 August 2026, visible at sunset from a wide band across northern and eastern Spain.
The line-up presented for that first version included Kevin Saunderson, Ellen Allien, DJ Stingray 313, Luke Slater, Nicole Moudaber, Lilly Palmer, Gerd Janson, Mano Le Tough, Ben Sims and other names from international techno and house. That programme belongs to the cancelled project and should not be taken as an event that is still going ahead.
From the Astral Plane project to Iberia Eclipse Festival
After failing to obtain authorisation for La Pinilla, Astral Plane became part of Iberia Eclipse Festival. The next location announced was Vinuesa, near the Cuerda del Pozo area, in Soria. The local council rejected the event after receiving unfavourable reports from various authorities.
The organisers then announced a progressive reduction in the planned capacity and argued for a smaller format. According to information published during the process, plans had gone from 10,000 and 8,000 people to a maximum of 3,000, with just over a thousand tickets sold. This change did not allow the Soria venue to be secured.
The final move to Cabrillanes was also ruled out
The last attempt placed the event from 10 to 14 August in Las Murias de Babia, within the municipality of Cabrillanes in León. The definitive cancellation was announced on 7 August, just days before the planned opening.
The organisers and Cabrillanes Council have given different accounts of the immediate reason for the outcome. For this reason, this listing does not assign sole responsibility: it simply records that the festival did not reach an administrative and operational position that would have allowed it to be held with adequate guarantees.
Tickets and refunds for the cancelled edition
Anyone who bought tickets should check the email address used for the order. The organisers have sent personalised links with the available options, and the official platform allows you to request access to your order again if the message does not appear.
The ticketing platform states that Iberia Eclipse 2026 will not take place. It also offers a voluntary contribution to support a possible 2027 edition, but makes clear that this contribution is not a ticket and does not guarantee access to any future event. It should not be confused with the refund process.
What still stands: the eclipse on 12 August
The cancellation of the festival does not affect the astronomical event. The total eclipse on Wednesday 12 August 2026 is still expected and will require certified eye protection, choosing an authorised location and following the mobility and fire-prevention guidance in each area. Ordinary glasses, homemade filters or optical instruments without specific solar protection must not be used.
The official Iberia Eclipse website still displays the cancellation notice, while the orders platform handles individual ticket management. This listing will remain marked as festival cancelled in 2026.
