About the festival

CineBeat 2026 will turn Mérida into a music and film trail over the October bank holiday weekend. The City Council has announced 59 concerts spread across fifteen venues, with the core music programme running from 8 to 11 October and a wider cultural programme that ends on the 12th.

When the music at CineBeat 2026 starts

The main days will open on Thursday 8 at 21:30, with the Banda de Música de Mérida at the Pórtico del Foro Romano. The concerts that follow are spread across urban spaces, venues and bars, rather than a single site.

When planning your visit, distinguish the concert days from the festival's full calendar. An activity announced outside 8 to 11 October may be part of CineBeat, but that does not mean the music trail is already up and running with all its stages.

Three spaces to plan your concert trail

On Friday, the plaza del Conservatorio brings together Interfectos, Funkin’V and Dr. Gri; on Saturday, Los Odiosos, Luback and Alberttinny. The Skate Park del puente Lusitania will host music on Saturday from 13:00 to 17:00, with Pitera, Mindtraveller, Bellotaris Fallecidos and Spidikflotes.

On Sunday, the closing event at the Acueducto de los Milagros starts at 17:30: Black Maracas, Cobrafuma, The Buzzos, Bulo, Bucéfalo and Gameboyz. Afterwards, Gameboyz will carry on at Jazz Bar. The opening time of a block should not be read as the start time for all its artists; check the detailed programme to fit in each performance.

How to combine the music with the screenings

Film also fills the days before the concerts: the programme includes music documentaries and titles such as 24 Hour Party People. The whole line-up invites you to build your own itinerary, combining a screening with the concert or space that interests you most.

The Mérida City Council events listing and the festival website are the references for checking sessions and conditions. Not all activities necessarily share the same capacity, access or ticketing system: check the specific event rather than assuming that one format applies to everything.

If you want to catch two performances back to back at different venues, allow time to get there and enter the next space. The information gathered in our CineBeat Mérida guide separates the music days from the general calendar to make that choice easier.

The film calendar: screenings and talks

On Tuesday 6 October at 20:30, Cine María Luisa hosts Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger. On Wednesday 7, at the same time and in the same cinema, 24 Hour Party People will be screened. These are two events ahead of the opening of the main music days.

On Thursday 8, Fundación CB devotes the afternoon to the history of the Canciller venue: an exhibition at 18:00, the documentary Canciller, el templo del rock at 18:30 and a talk at 20:00 with its director and participants. On Monday 12 October at 20:30, Cines Victoria screens Pizarro is God. Sunday's musical finale is therefore not the last event of the whole festival.

Fifteen venues and a programme with a strong Extremadura presence

The third edition uses the Asamblea de Extremadura, Fundación CB, Hotel Nova Roma, plaza del Conservatorio, Acueducto de los Milagros, Pórtico del Foro Romano, Jazz Bar, Maruja Limón, LAMOXTT, Malamadre, Bujío, Café Joplin, Skate Park del puente Lusitania, Cine María Luisa and Cines Victoria. These spaces serve different purposes: the inclusion of a venue does not mean it has concerts every day or that all its activities are musical.

The City Council has announced 55 artists, 38 of them from Extremadura, along with fifteen from other parts of Spain and two international acts. The music includes rock, pop, punk, electronic and other styles. The trail encourages you to discover different projects throughout the day, but means you need to check the location of each session.

How to choose the days that interest you

For an afternoon visit, Saturday's Skate Park offers a set slot between 13:00 and 17:00. For the closing concert, the place to be is the Acueducto de los Milagros from 17:30 on Sunday. Do not read the names on a line-up poster as an exact running order if they have no individual set times.

Check the entry conditions for each space and access times: the council's announcement does not confirm that the whole programme shares a single ticket or that all sessions are free. The general calendar from 23 September to 12 October and the music days from 8 to 11 October coexist in this edition; the guide distinguishes between the two to help you avoid travelling on the wrong day.
