About the festival

FiestoRon, the pop and rock festival in Arucas (Gran Canaria), did not take place in 2026: building work at the Recinto Ferial, its usual venue, forced it to skip a summer. The organisers and the town council postponed it to 2027, when the ninth edition will be held at the same venue. There are still no dates, line-up or tickets.

FiestoRon 2027: back in Arucas, still without dates

The return has been announced since 29 October 2025, when the organisers and Arucas town council presented the postponement. The ninth edition will take place at the Recinto Ferial de Arucas, at the foot of the church of San Juan Bautista, its usual setting. ‘In 2027 FiestoRon will come back stronger,’ said the mayor, Juan Jesús Facundo, at the time.

Almost all the practical details are still missing. The festival’s website still shows the 2025 edition and ticket sales have not opened. The tourism listings site Hola Islas Canarias places the event in August 2027, with two days of concerts, without specifying dates. This fits the festival’s usual pattern (8 and 9 August in 2025, 9 and 10 August in 2024), but the exact days have not been announced.

The return is tied to the venue: according to the schedule announced in 2025, the work was due to last until the end of 2026.

Why there was no FiestoRon in 2026

The improvement work at the Recinto Ferial began in August 2025, the same month as the eighth edition, and its expected duration left the space unusable throughout 2026. According to the joint statement, this meant the venue could not be made available in suitable conditions for an event of this size.

It is not the first break. The festival already had to stop because of the pandemic and came back afterwards, a precedent the organisers and the town council pointed to in order to play down the pause.

What FiestoRon is like: two days of pop and rock at the foot of the Catedral de Arucas

Every summer FiestoRon brings together veteran Spanish-language pop and rock bands in a two-day format, with room for the odd Latin American or Canarian act: in 2024, for example, the line-up included Celtas Cortos, Reincidentes, Café Quijano, La Pegatina and Gran Canaria’s own Efecto Pasillo. In 2025 the gates opened at 17:30 and the concerts ran back to back from 18:00, with five performances a day and the last set at 01:45.

The venue, on the carretera del Lomo, sits at the foot of the church of San Juan Bautista, known as the Catedral de Arucas. Ticket holders could leave and re-enter, and there was a reserved area in front of the stage for people with reduced mobility.

To get there, in 2025 Global reinforced bus lines 124 (Gáldar-Guía-Arucas) and 210 (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria-Cardones-Arucas), and car parks were set up with access from the GC-2 to the north and the GC-3 to the south. These were the arrangements for the last edition: those for 2027 will be known when the festival is presented.

FiestoRon 2025, the last edition

The eighth edition took place on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 August 2025 and reached the festival days almost sold out: the VIP and Palco passes sold out, and the two-day pass and the Friday and Saturday tickets were over 90% sold, according to the organisers themselves.

  • Friday 8: La Regadera, Tropa Do Carallo, Barón Rojo, Boikot and The Locos.
  • Saturday 9: La Guardia, Despistaos, Los Zigarros, Molotov and Huecco.

The line-up sums up the festival’s profile: the classic heavy metal of Barón Rojo and the punk of Boikot on Friday; the pop-rock of La Guardia and Despistaos and the Mexican rock of Molotov on Saturday. Most are acts with many years on the road: a bill aimed at a broad audience rather than at discovering new bands.

If you want something else to do in Gran Canaria before FiestoRon returns, SUM Festival already has dates for 2027, and the Canary Islands festival calendar lists the rest of the events on the islands.
