About the festival
Galaxy Sound was born in Málaga in 2024 as an indie, pop and electronic music festival to kick off the summer, and has held two editions. At present there is no edition announced for 2026 or 2027: the official website only shows an «Under construction» notice.
A debut with Los Planetas and Crystal Fighters
The first edition took place from 16 to 18 May 2024 at the Auditorio Municipal Cortijo de Torres. Its line-up brought together Los Planetas, who were celebrating 30 years of Super 8, with Crystal Fighters, Arde Bogotá, Sidonie and Sen Senra, as well as Rufus T. Firefly, Sienna, Sarria and several DJs. It is the one we covered in the full Galaxy Sound 2024 line-up.
The last known edition: 2025
The festival returned on 20 and 21 June 2025, by then at Málaga Forum, the site of the former drive-in cinema. It went from three days to two and changed its profile: Mando Diao, La La Love You, Álvaro de Luna and Niña Polaca headlined a line-up with more pop than in 2024, completed by Mateo Eraña, Anadie, Marta Berlín, Hey Kid and sets from Les Castizos and Fascinados Club. The second tier of festival passes sold for €41.95 including fees, as we reported in the 2025 ticket sale.
What we know today
There is no edition announced for 2026 or 2027. The official website publishes no dates, line-up or ticket sales, and the organisers have announced neither a return nor the end of the festival.
Some event listings did place an edition on 17 and 18 May 2026 at Cortijo de Torres, but with no artists or official announcement, and there is no record of it having taken place.
In just two editions, Galaxy Sound changed venue, month and length, without ever settling on a stable formula. It has not announced anything since June 2025. Current events in the area can be found in our listings of festivals in Andalusia.
