A week after publishing its own obituary, Sónar has confirmed that it is still alive. On Tuesday the Barcelona festival unveiled the first 30 names for its 2027 edition, led by Carl Cox, Bonobo, Peggy Gou, Jessie Ware, Tokischa and Yung Lean, along with a change of format: Sónar de Día returns to the city centre, the area where it was born in 1994.

Sónar de Día returns to the centre and Sónar de Noche to Fira Gran Via
The most significant change is the format. According to the festival's press release, Sónar de Día will return to central Barcelona and restore its connection with the city and its seafront, in a smaller format designed for discovering new artists. It will share space with Sónar+D, the creativity and technology conference. The festival has not yet said at which exact venue it will be held.
Sónar de Noche brings back its classic format of two nights and four stages at Fira Gran Via, on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 June, with the biggest artists and the most technically demanding live shows.
The change comes after the campaign the festival launched on 27 October, featuring a coffin and the dates 1994-2026, which raised doubts about its future and which we covered in what was known about Sónar 2027 after the obituary. At the time, La Vanguardia pointed to Port Vell as a possible site for the daytime programme; the festival now talks about the centre and the seafront, but has still not named the location.
Sónar 2027 tickets: passes and prices
Passes are on sale on the official website at an opening price that, the festival warns, will rise as the date approaches. Prices include fees and taxes:

The flex option allows you to request a full refund until 28 February 2027. For now there are no separate day or night tickets. Those who bought in the June pre-sale, before any line-up was announced, paid €155 for the SonarPass and €170 for the SonarPass+D.
Sónar 2027 dates
Sónar will take place on Thursday 17, Friday 18 and Saturday 19 June 2027: three days of Sónar de Día and two nights of Sónar de Noche. That weekend clashes with other festivals, as we noted in the 2027 dates when you will have to choose. All the information, including accommodation with the dates already set, is on the Sónar page, and the rest of the season is in the April to June 2027 festival calendar.
