Alcalá Norte

Alternative rock band formed in 2019 in the Madrid district of Ciudad Lineal by drummer Jaime Barbosa, guitarist Juan Pablo Juliá and singer Álvaro Rivas. Their first demo, from 2020, had a dark, synth-heavy sound. In April 2024 they released their self-titled debut album on the Basque label Balaunka, with echoes of the Movida madrileña and the Manchester sound, and lyrics that mix the mystical, the everyday and football. In 2025 that record earned them the award for Best New Artist from the Academia de la Música de España.

Alcalá Norte appears in the line-ups of 11 festivals in ModoFestival's calendar. Next date: RADAR (Madrid), 19–21 Oct 2026.
