In short

  1. PintorRock is the festival this week with the least room to spare: the €76 pass has sold out, the remaining one costs €78 and the organisers put capacity at 97% on Thursday 22.
  2. Halloween falls on a Saturday and each city celebrates it in its own style: pop and indie at Hallowindie in León, punk and rap at Castañazo in Chantada, industrial electro at Nocturna in Barcelona, and three big electronic nights in Madrid.
  3. Jazz fills the weekend in Granada and Cartagena: Ibrahim Maalouf on Friday at El Batel, Tomoki Sanders on Saturday and Kyle Eastwood on Sunday at the Isabel la Católica, with tickets from €20.
  4. Monday 2 November is a public holiday in only nine regions: Madrid, Andalusia and Castile and León get a long weekend; Catalonia, Galicia, Murcia, the Valencian Community and the Basque Country do not, and when planning your return it is the calendar where you work that counts, not the festival's.

The last week of October ends with Halloween on a Saturday and, in much of the country, with Monday 2 November off. Before that comes a packed week: from Tuesday to Thursday, Bilbao fills nine venues with showcases at BIME Live; Granada and Cartagena open their jazz festivals, and from Thursday PintorRock's punk takes over Reus for three days.

This is the festival guide for Monday 26 October to Sunday 1 November, with the times, venues and prices shown on the official websites and ticket outlets on Friday 23 October. If you are looking for what happened the previous week, it is in our guide to 19 to 25 October.

BIME Live, 27 to 30 October in Bilbao: €1 showcases and a free closing show in Uribitarte

BIME Live is the public-facing part of the BIME industry gathering. From Tuesday 27 to Thursday 29 it spreads more than seventy showcases and parties across nine Bilbao venues: Kafe Antzokia, Sala BBK, Bilborock, Azkena, Crystal, Dock BBF, La Ribera, Stage Live and Back Room. These are short concerts, mostly by emerging artists from Spain, Europe and Latin America, such as Ashleys, Dianka and Tussiwarriors, along with the odd established name, such as Puerto Rico's Pedro Capó.

To get in you need to register at BIME Live on Fever: it costs €1, which goes as a donation to those affected by the earthquakes in Colombia, and the QR code is valid for all venues, subject to capacity. Registration is in your name and only one ticket per person is allowed. On Friday 30, the closing event moves outdoors: the stages on the paseo de Uribitarte, next to the City Hall, host a free concert from 17:00 with Alcalá Norte, 1111, Jimena Amarillo, Hija del Nopal and Sedientos de Cumbia. The venues and format are in our BIME Live guide.

Alcalá Norte thus link two festivals in two days: on Saturday they play Hallowindie in León, four days before releasing their second album, which comes out on 4 November. Their 2027 dates are in our news story on their tour.

Jazz in Granada and Cartagena: Faraò, Maalouf, Motis and Kyle Eastwood

Festival Internacional de Jazz de Granada. The 46th edition starts outside the theatre: pianist Lucía Rey plays on Tuesday 27 at the Auditorio Caja Rural and Fernando Beiztegui & El Oso de Benalúa Blues Band on Wednesday 28 in the hall at Alcázar Genil metro station, both free with an invitation, which no longer appear on the official ticket outlet. On Thursday 29, guitarist Luca Giordano and harmonica player Víctor Puertas bring the blues to the sala Aliatar at 21:00; the first ticket tier sold out and tickets now cost €30 including fees, over-18s only.

The weekend moves to the Teatro Isabel la Católica, always at 21:00: pianist Antonio Faraò plays with Jeff Ballard on drums on Friday 30; saxophonist Tomoki Sanders, son of Pharoah Sanders, on Saturday 31, and Kyle Eastwood, with his take on the music from the films of his father, Clint Eastwood, on Sunday 1. On Redentradas, Faraò costs €40, €30 or €22 depending on the area; Sanders, €38, €28 or €20, and Eastwood, €48, €38 or €25. The cheapest area, anfiteatro 2, has restricted views. The rest of the programme, until 7 November, is in our guide to the Granada Jazz Festival.

Cartagena Jazz Festival. Its 45th edition kicks off on Wednesday 28 with Aurora Plazza at the Mister Witt Café (21:30, €5) and continues on Thursday 29 with Micah P. Hinson at the Centro Cultural Ramón Alonso Luzzy (20:30, €18) and a free jam at 22:00. The three big nights are at the Auditorio El Batel: trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf presents The Trumpets of Michel-Ange Vol. 2 on Friday 30 at 20:30; Andrea Motis sings To Amy with the Barcelona Gospel Messengers on Saturday 31 at 20:00, and Niño Josele pays tribute to Bill Evans on Sunday 1 at 19:00. Maalouf and Motis cost €35, €30 or €25 depending on the area, and Niño Josele €25, all on Bacantix. There are also two midday concerts: Mood Swing for free on Saturday at 12:30 in the plaza del ICUE and Pantera Blue on Sunday at the same time on the terrace at El Batel, for €15. The festival runs until 15 November, as we explain in our guide to the Cartagena Jazz Festival.

PintorRock, 29 to 31 October in Reus: the pass rises to €78 with capacity at 97%

PintorRock reaches its 15th anniversary with three days of punk, street rock, ska and hardcore at the Parc de la Festa in Reus, and with little room to spare for anyone who still lacks a ticket. The €76 three-day pass is listed as sold out on Enterticket, its only official ticket outlet, and the remaining one, phase 6, costs €78. The festival announced on Thursday 22 that capacity was at 97% and that this was the final price change. The festival website still shows the pass at €76, but that tier can no longer be bought. Day tickets remain at €35 on Thursday, €45 on Friday and €50 on Saturday, and camping is paid separately: €15 per person for the three nights.

The stage times have been published and there are no clashes. On Thursday 29 doors open at 16:00 and the night revolves around The Toy Dolls (23:10), with Kaos Urbano and Envidia Kotxina beforehand and Moscow Death Brigade at 00:50. Friday 30 starts at midday and runs through Boikot (20:05), El Drogas (21:50) and Narco (23:35). On Saturday 31, Soziedad Alkoholika take the stage at 20:00, before Segismundo Toxicómano and The Baboon Show. All three days finish at 03:30. The full line-up is in our news story on the PintorRock stage times.

Two practical notes: advance top-up of the cashless wristband, with €5 or €15 free depending on the amount, closes on Wednesday 28 at 23:59, and this year there is no official bus, so you have to make your own way there. The area for vans and motorhomes, 300 metres away, is free. Services and access are on the PintorRock festival page.

ENSOLAB, 29 to 31 October in Alicante: free experimental electronic music at Las Cigarreras

Alicante's experimental electronic music festival celebrates its tenth edition at the Centro Cultural Las Cigarreras with a two-part format: in the afternoon, each project explains in a masterclass what it will perform that night. Thursday 29 belongs to José Manuel Berenguer, who was also at the first edition, with Autoimprovisaciones at 20:30. On Friday Alpha Decay play with Luisa Madrid (21:00) followed by BROMO (22:00), and on Saturday Kosu Nes x Urok (22:00) and White Solar Dog (23:00), all at the Casa de la Música. El Secadero, a new space, hosts the DJ sets in the afternoon.

Entry is free, with the option of a donation, and tickets are available on the ENSOLAB page on Eventbrite; the organisers warn that capacity is limited. Times by day and masterclasses are in our ENSOLAB guide and on the festival page.

Friday 30 and Saturday 31: Halloween in León, Chantada, Barcelona and Madrid

Hallowindie (León). The pop and indie festival at the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos introduces an extra day beforehand: on Friday 30, acoustic sets from Javi Chapela, Noa and Casino Montreal, with doors at 19:30. Saturday 31 is headlined by La La Love You, alongside Alcalá Norte, who replace Ginebras, and Cariño, with Amatria, The Sirius, Standby Rock and DJ Motto. The day-by-day line-up sets opening at 17:30, although Ctickets still says 18:00, and there are no individual stage times. The Saturday ticket is valid for both days: it is in its third tier, at €40 plus €4 in fees, and on the door it will cost €55; Friday only, €15 on the door. Under-16s must be accompanied by an adult. The fancy dress contest and other details are in our Hallowindie guide and on the festival page.

Castañazo (Chantada, Lugo). On Friday 30 the Mercado Gandeiro hosts Kumpania Algazarra, Grande Amore, Rebeliom do Inframundo and Moscow Death Brigade, who play PintorRock in Reus in the early hours of the night before. Saturday 31 belongs to Kaotiko, Tremenda Jauría, Neomak, Sons of Aguirre & Scila and Kúspide. There are no individual stage times; doors open at 20:30 on Friday and 20:00 on Saturday. Buying early pays off: until Thursday 29, a day ticket costs €27.50 including fees and the pass €42.90, on Woutick; on the door they will be €30 and €49. Camping is free, in school sports halls, on a first-come, first-served basis. We explain it in our Castañazo guide and on the festival page.

Nocturna Festival (Barcelona). Saturday's darkest offering is at Sala Upload in the Poble Espanyol: industrial electro and EBM with [:SITD:], Frozen Plasma, Dawn of Ashes and Xotox, plus DJ sets in two rooms. Doors open at 19:30 and the music starts at 20:00. General admission costs €39.30, fees included, and under-16s may only enter accompanied by their mother, father or guardian. Nocturna Festival tickets on Ticketmaster. ModoFestival may receive a commission if you buy through this link, at no extra cost to you.

Madrid and surroundings. Saturday night is split between three big electronic events. Halloween Takeover runs from 14:00 to 02:00 at the Recinto Iberdrola Music, with The Martinez Brothers, Maceo Plex and Kölsch, and tickets at €45 for entry before 17:00 or €58 for general admission, plus fees. At Fabrik, Hallowfest brings together Charlotte de Witte and the hardstyle of Brennan Heart from 17:00 to 06:00; general admission is in its ninth tier, at €55, with few left, and there are buses from the Templo de Debod for €6 each way. Hallowfest tickets on Fever. ModoFestival may receive a commission if you buy through this link, at no extra cost to you. And Blackworks' The Purgatory takes over Friday and Saturday from 18:00 to 06:00 with hard techno in Leganés. Outside Madrid, on Saturday there is also Oro Viejo, with DJ Nano, in Arroyo de la Encomienda (Valladolid), and Nebulossa and Ladilla Rusa's PanarraFest in Alcalá de Guadaíra. Line-ups, prices and transport for all of them are in our guide to Halloween festivals 2026.

ECOS, from 30 October in Sierra Espuña: early music in Aledo and Totana

Far from Halloween, ECOS Festival opens its tenth edition with six concerts in six villages around Sierra Espuña (Region of Murcia), until 21 November. On Friday 30 at 21:00, the vocal ensemble Cantoría, founded in 2016 within the festival itself, sings the baroque villancicos from its second album, ¡A la fiesta!, in the church of Santa María la Real in Aledo, with tickets at €15. On Saturday 31 at 20:30, Marc de la Linde and Jeremy Nastasi play at the sanctuary of Santa Eulalia in Totana, for €10. Under-40s and residents of the six municipalities pay the reduced rate, of €10 and €5, with no need to show proof. Tickets are on sale on the ECOS website, and capacity is limited.

Monday 2 November, a public holiday in only nine regions

As All Saints' Day falls on a Sunday, nine regions move the holiday to Monday 2 November, according to the official holiday calendar published in the BOE: Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, the Canary Islands, Castilla-La Mancha, Castile and León, Extremadura, the Community of Madrid and Navarre. In Catalonia, Galicia, the Region of Murcia, the Valencian Community and the Basque Country, Monday is a working day. When organising your return, it is the calendar where you work that counts, not the festival's: anyone travelling from Madrid to Castañazo or PintorRock has Monday to get back, while anyone going from Barcelona, Valencia or Bilbao to Hallowindie or to Kyle Eastwood's Sunday concert in Granada does not.

What comes after the long weekend is in our guide to November festivals and in the November festival calendar.
