In short
- Lendakaris Muertos, Cecilio G and Samantha Hudson stand out in a first batch of 21 names, with local punk and Oi!, rap and pop in Basque, and the official poster leaves blanked-out slots for the acts still to be announced.
- The two-day pass costs €50 until this Tuesday, 27 October, and will then go up to €55, according to Noticias de Álava and Gasteiz Hoy; if you already know you are going, buying now saves you five euros.
- Both days, Friday 7 and Saturday 8 May, will run from 17:00 to 05:00, with a campsite five minutes' walk from Mendizabala and no parking at the site.
- The second edition follows the 16,000 attendees the festival reports for its debut, and brings back Maruxak and Nafarroa 1512, who were already on the 2026 line-up.
A thousand passes sold out in around 20 minutes in early October and, three weeks later, came the first names. Bat Batean, the youth festival of Vitoria-Gasteiz, returns to Mendizabala on 7 and 8 May 2027 with Lendakaris Muertos, Cecilio G and Samantha Hudson leading a first batch of artists, and the €50 pass has an expiry date: this Tuesday, 27 October.
Who is on the first Bat Batean 2027 line-up
The three names that have come up most in local reports are not the only ones. The poster BatBatean has published on its website features 21 artists: Arene 6, Borla, Cecilio G, Euskoprincess, Kiliki, Las Ninyas del Corro, Lendakaris Muertos, Marmitako Trap Band, Maruxak, Mirua, Nafarroa 1512, Naxker, Periferia, Samantha Hudson, Streetwise, Tatxers and TOC, and in smaller print 3 Katu, Katana, Kene.mp3 and Radio Patio. Among them are quite a few slots blanked out with orange bars and a sentence in Basque warning that there are more acts that cannot be announced yet.
The mix has two recognisable halves. One is the local punk scene: Lendakaris Muertos from Navarre, the Basque-language streetpunk of Nafarroa 1512, from Arbizu, and the Oi! of Streetwise and of Arene 6 from Getxo. The other looks towards urban music and pop: the rap of Cecilio G, the hip hop of Barcelona's Las Ninyas del Corro, the musical side of Samantha Hudson, the Basque-language pop of Borla and the solo debut of Kiliki, one of the driving forces behind Chill Mafia, according to the presentation reported by Gasteiz Hoy. It is a bet on a young audience and on several scenes at once, which the organisers sum up as their aim to «connect different styles, scenes and generations».
There is no day-by-day split or set times yet; the festival says in its FAQs that it will publish them once they are finalised. Fans of Lendakaris Muertos have another date before then: the band is also on the ExpoRock 2027 line-up, in A Coruña, on 13 March.
€50 pass until Tuesday 27, then €55
The two-day pass went on sale on 1 October. The first thousand, at €50, sold out in around 20 minutes, according to Noticias de Álava, citing a message from the organisers, who at the time promised to keep that price until the first artists were announced. They have extended it a little further: with the line-up now unveiled, the €50 price remains in place until Tuesday 27 October and, from that day, the pass will cost €55, according to Noticias de Álava and Gasteiz Hoy on 22 October. Kulturklik, the Basque Government's cultural listings, is still advertising it at €50.
Official sales are on the Bat Batean ticketing platform, where what is on sale is the two-day pass. The festival has not specified at what time on Tuesday the price changes, so anyone wanting to secure the €50 rate should not leave it until the last minute.
The decision is simple to frame. Anyone who already plans to go on both days saves five euros by buying now. At €50, each day works out at €25, the same as the Iruña Rock 2027 pass in Pamplona before fees, another two-day festival with Nafarroa 1512 on the line-up. Anyone unsure about the line-up should know that, with the blanked-out names still to come, they are buying without knowing all of it, and that dated tickets carry no right of withdrawal refund, as explained when we looked at the 2027 festivals being sold blind. Times, camping and access to Mendizabala
The ticketing platform sets doors at 17:00 on Friday and Saturday, with concerts from 17:30. The FAQs on the official website put the end of the music at 05:00 on both days and warn that times may change. Entry is by wristband, which is fitted at the entrance when you show your ticket, and you can leave and come back in.
There will be a campsite five minutes' walk from the site, open from 13:00 on 7 May until 17:00 on 9 May, for sleeping tents only, with no electricity or pitches and with 24-hour security; the website does not yet give its price. The site has no parking and no cash machine, and inside a €2 festival cup is used, refunded when you return it at the bar by the exit. Under-16s, up to the age of 15, must be accompanied by their father, mother or legal guardian, while 16- and 17-year-olds can attend alone with a signed authorisation.
A second edition focused on the young Basque scene
Bat Batean debuted in 2026 at the same site with 45 names on the main line-up, from La Élite and Jarfaiter to Juantxo Skalari & La Rude Band, Bull Brigade and Segismundo Toxicómano, and another seventeen in small print. The organisers put attendance over those two days at 16,000 people and now talk of establishing themselves as the first major festival aimed at young audiences in Álava.

The idea the festival champions is to give Euskal Herria acts with their own following a bigger stage than club venues, alongside artists with a wider profile. The first 2027 announcement reflects this: Maruxak and Nafarroa 1512 return from the previous edition, while the names from further afield, Cecilio G, Samantha Hudson and Las Ninyas del Corro, are new. Upcoming announcements will be added to the Bat Batean page on ModoFestival.
