In short
- The May Day long weekend in 2027 brings together four festivals on the same days: Viña Rock, Rocanrola and Extremúsika run from Thursday 29 April to Saturday 1 May, and WARM UP takes up Friday 30 and Saturday 1.
- The weekend of 17 June is the busiest, with six festivals at once: Azkena, Antorchas, Z! Live, Sónar and Magnífic Fest run from Thursday to Saturday, and BIGSOUND joins them on Friday 18 and Saturday 19.
- Where you really have to choose is rock: in May, Viña Rock and Extremúsika share the same territory of rock, punk and fusion, and in June, Azkena and Z! Live share that of rock and metal.
- Today's prices help you decide more than the line-ups do: Azkena is keeping its promotional pass until 10 November, Antorchas has already sold out two price tiers, and Viña Rock and Sónar are not on sale yet.
Two weekends in 2027 already force a choice. Over the May Day long weekend, four festivals coincide in Villarrobledo, Alicante, Cáceres and Murcia; from 17 to 19 June, six do so across Vitoria, Albacete, Zamora, Barcelona, Lleida and Torrent. All the dates have been confirmed by the festivals themselves, although almost none of the line-ups is complete.
There are also two milestone anniversaries at stake, one in each block: Viña Rock's 30th and Azkena's 25th.
May Day long weekend: Viña Rock, Rocanrola, Extremúsika and WARM UP, on the same days
1 May 2027 falls on a Saturday, and three festivals have taken advantage of it with the same Thursday-to-Saturday format:
- Viña Rock, in Villarrobledo (Albacete), on 29 and 30 April and 1 May, according to its official website. It is its 30th anniversary edition and it does not yet have a line-up, prices or an on-sale date: for now it has only opened a registration so that people registered as residents of Villarrobledo can access discounted passes. What is known is in our article on its dates.
- Rocanrola, at Multiespacio Rabasa in Alicante, on 29 and 30 April and 1 May. It already has passes on sale on its official website and a rap and urban music line-up with Space Hammu at the top.
- Extremúsika, at Recinto Hípico de Cáceres, on 29 and 30 April and 1 May, according to the festival. Its first announcement, of 21 names, includes Soziedad Alkoholika, La Pegatina, Sôber and Metrika, and the festival warns that pass prices are going up. The dates were announced on the final night of the 2026 edition, as we reported in its first pass sale.
- WARM UP, at La Fica (Murcia), on Friday 30 April and Saturday 1 May. It is the only one of the four that lasts two days, with The Kooks and Viva Suecia heading a pop and indie line-up.
From 17 to 19 June: six festivals at once, from Vitoria to Torrent
On Thursday 17 June, five festivals kick off that end on Saturday 19, and a sixth joins them on the Friday:
- Azkena Rock Festival, at Mendizabala (Vitoria-Gasteiz), from 17 to 19 June. It celebrates its 25 years with almost 60 artists, headed by Patti Smith, Bad Religion, Marilyn Manson, Slash and Wilco.
- Antorchas, in Albacete, from 17 to 19 June. It combines concerts with a food offering, and its first line-up brings together Viva Suecia, Iván Ferreiro, Carlos Sadness and Alcalá Norte.
- Z! Live Rock Fest, at IFEZA (Zamora), from 17 to 19 June, its twelfth edition. It is the most metal-oriented of the block, with Edguy and Stratovarius among the first names.
- Sónar, in Barcelona, from 17 to 19 June. It has not yet announced any artists or put tickets on sale: for now it simply invites people to sign up to its newsletter to hear the news first.
- Magnífic Fest, at Recinte Firal Les Firetes in Lleida, from 17 to 19 June. It is already selling a three-day pass with a launch offer, although it will announce the artists gradually.
- BIGSOUND Valencia, in Torrent, on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 June. It leaves the Thursday free and goes for the Latin and urban pop of Becky G and Luis Fonsi.

Six festivals in three days is a lot, but not all of them are competing for the same audience. Sónar is an electronic music festival, BIGSOUND focuses on Latin pop and Antorchas on Spanish pop and rock, with its food element. Albacete also features in both blocks: Viña Rock takes place in Villarrobledo, in the same province.
Where they really clash: rock in May and in June
The difficult choice comes down to two pairs. In May, Viña Rock and Extremúsika share a tradition of rock, punk, rap and fusion, and Extremúsika has already put names on the table while Viña Rock still has no line-up. Anyone torn between the two will have to decide whether to buy now on the strength of an announcement of 21 artists or wait for the Villarrobledo festival to reveal its own, with the risk that the Cáceres passes will have gone up by then.
In June, Azkena and Z! Live compete for the rock and metal audience. The line-ups are further apart than the label suggests: Azkena mixes the punk of Bad Religion, the rock of Patti Smith and the Americana of Wilco, while Z! Live looks to European power metal with Edguy and Stratovarius. For those who follow both scenes, the dilemma is real.
Rocanrola, focused on rap and urban music, and WARM UP, on pop and indie, play on different ground in May.
What each pass costs today and which are not on sale yet
As of 24 October, the sales situation on the official websites is as follows:
- Azkena: three-day promotional pass at €150 plus fees, a price the festival is keeping until 10 November. Sales are on Fever, the ticketing platform the festival links to; ModoFestival may receive a commission if you buy through this link, at no extra cost to you. There is also a pass for young people aged 15 to 24 and a group pass of six for the price of five.
- Antorchas: concert pass at €75 on its official sales page, after the €60 and €70 ones sold out. It does not include access to the Gastroexperience.
- BIGSOUND: general pass at €60 including fees, with the €70 tier announced as the next one, on its official website.
- WARM UP: two-day general pass at €69.99, now that the €66.99 one has sold out, on its official sales page.
- Z! Live: three-day pass on sale on Weezevent, its official sales channel.
- Rocanrola, Extremúsika and Magnífic Fest: all three are already selling passes through their official channels (Rocanrola on its website; Extremúsika on its own, warning that the price is going up, and Magnífic Fest in its shop, with a launch offer), but without the current tier's price visible on their pages.
- Viña Rock and Sónar: sales not open. Viña Rock will announce the date and price later.
With so many events at once, the cheap tier runs out before the indecision does. If you have already made up your mind, Azkena has set a deadline for its promotional price, 10 November, and BIGSOUND has already announced its next tier, at €70. If you are torn between two with half-finished line-ups, compare how long each has before its price goes up before deciding.
