La M.O.D.A.

A seven-piece band from Burgos formed in 2011, whose name is the acronym of La Maravillosa Orquesta del Alcohol. Singer David Ruiz started the project after a spell in Dublin, and that street and pub music gave rise to a blend of folk, punk, blues and rock and roll. The band released its debut album, ‘¿Quién nos va a salvar?’ (2013), and has since put out records such as ‘Salvavida (de las balas perdidas)’ (2017), ‘Nuevo cancionero burgalés’ (2021) and ‘San Felices’ (2025). In 2021, its song ‘1932’ was the soundtrack to the Vuelta Ciclista a España.

La M.O.D.A. appears in the line-ups of 16 festivals in ModoFestival's calendar. Next date: SanSan Festival (Benicassim), 25–27 Mar 2027.
