About the festival
Iceberg Festival was due to make its debut on Friday 17 October 2025 at the Caja Mágica de Madrid with a day of more than ten hours of Spanish-language pop and indie. It never took place: the organisers cancelled it less than two weeks before the date and, since then, have not announced any edition for 2026 or 2027.
An autumn festival for Spanish indie
The idea was to fill an unusual gap in Madrid's calendar: a single-day festival in mid-October, when the outdoor festival season is already over, with doors opening at 16:00. The line-up relied on well-known names from Spanish pop and indie:
- Xoel López and DePedro, two songwriters with long careers on stage.
- Santero y Los Muchachos, Cala Vento and Melón Diesel, from rock and guitar pop.
- Nat Simons, representing the newest wave of pop.
- We Are Not DJs, for the DJ set.
The 2025 cancellation and refunds
On 4 October 2025, the festival announced on social media that its debut had been called off for reasons of economic viability. Outlets such as MercadeoPop attributed the decision to poor ticket sales, and the initial notice stated that buyers would receive instructions by email on how to request a refund.
On 30 October 2025, RockTotal reported that the promoter, Wind and Tide Music S.L., had still not refunded the cost of tickets. According to that outlet, the company cited the financial damage caused by the cancellation itself and warned that the refund "will take some time". There is no later public information clarifying whether all refunds were completed, so anyone still waiting should make a claim to the promoter and to the point of sale where they bought their ticket, and can turn to consumer affairs offices if they get no response.
What is known about the festival today
Iceberg has not announced any new dates, venue or line-up. It does not appear in the Caja Mágica concert listings for 2026 and 2027, and no ticketing platform is selling a new edition. As of 14 October 2026, the project has still not held a single edition.
