Festivals in Community of Madrid

The capital accounts for the vast majority of festivals in the Community of Madrid. Outside the city, Rivas Vaciamadrid is the municipality with the most events, including the metal and punk of Rio Babel; Torrejón de Ardoz adds the electronic music of elrow Town, and Alcalá de Henares hosts Los Conciertos de la Muralla in the Huerta del Obispo.

Madrid's calendar has a profile of its own: May and June bring together more festivals than July and August, and September and October fill up again. July has Mad Cool, in the Villaverde district, while October brings RADAR and CaixaBank Madrid Live Experience, and Inverfest runs from October to March with concerts at the Teatro Circo Price, La Riviera and the Movistar Arena.

Electronic music and techno make up a significant part of Madrid's line-up, in very different formats. Iberoexperia Sessions Madrid is spread between April and September across clubs and theatres such as Sala Villanos, Teatro Eslava and the Teatro Capitol Gran Vía; A Summer Story takes place in June in Arganda del Rey, and the capital adds techno-focused events such as Music On and Circoloco.

Spring is the season for pop and indie. Sound Isidro runs its programme between April and June, LOS40 Primavera Pop takes place in April and Noches del Botánico spans June and July with rock and pop. In May and June, the Festival Internacional de Guitarra de Madrid widens the focus to flamenco, folk and classical music.

Urban music and reggaeton also have their own calendar: Canarias Tiene el Flow in May, Puro Latino Madrid in June and Reggaeton Millennial Fest Madrid in October, at the Autocine Madrid. Nostalgia works as a format in its own right, with events such as Love The 90'S Madrid and Love The Twenties.
