Kalorama

Kalorama Madrid did not take place in 2026 and has no return date. According to a spokesperson speaking to the festival website FabFestivals, the festival is taking a break and has not come to an end, although Last Tour, its promoter, has not issued its own statement or announced an edition for 2027.

The brand lives on in Lisbon, where MEO Kalorama held its 2026 edition from 28 to 30 August. In Madrid, the official website still shows the June 2025 edition, the most recent one to have taken place.

What we know about Kalorama Madrid 2027

There are no dates, venue, line-up or tickets. Nor is there any confirmation that the festival will return in 2027: the only reference to its future is that statement saying it is a pause, with no timeline.

From IFEMA to the Caja Mágica: two very different editions

Kalorama arrived in Madrid in 2024 as the Spanish version of the Lisbon festival, with the same focus on international pop, electronic music and indie. Its run in the capital has been short and ever-changing.

The first edition took place from 29 to 31 August 2024 at the IFEMA exhibition grounds, with Massive Attack, Sam Smith, LCD Soundsystem, Jungle, Peggy Gou, RAYE, The Smile and Olivia Dean, among others. According to the organisers, 41,500 people attended the festival over the three days. Massive Attack defined the final day with a live show loaded with political messages.

For 2025, the festival changed almost everything: it moved to the Caja Mágica, cut the event to two days, brought it forward to June and worked with a limited capacity. It was a smaller edition in every respect, and the 2026 pause comes straight after it. In a review of the 2026 Lisbon edition, El Enano Rabioso summed it up by saying that Kalorama «has not succeeded within the ever-difficult Madrid calendar».

How Kalorama Madrid 2025 went

The second and, for now, last edition took place on 20 and 21 June 2025 at the Caja Mágica. Pet Shop Boys headlined the Saturday with their greatest hits tour, on a day completed by Scissor Sisters, Azealia Banks and María Arnal. The Friday revolved around Jorja Smith, Father John Misty and The Flaming Lips, who performed their album Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots.

A storm forced a halt just before Pet Shop Boys, whose concert resumed half an hour later. That entire line-up, the venue and the conditions belong to 2025 and do not signal a new edition.
