The three theatre nights: Guiliana, Serrano and Rosenwinkel
On Thursday, drummer Mark Guiliana, who recorded with David Bowie on ‘Blackstar’, presents ‘Beat Music 2.0’ with Chris Morrissey and Nick Semrad. On Friday, harmonica player Antonio Serrano, winner of the 2025 Premio Nacional de las Músicas Actuales, brings to the stage ‘Jazz Caló’, the album produced by Tino di Geraldo, who also plays that night.
Saturday's closing night belongs to guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel with ‘The Remedy Tour’, which revisits the repertoire of his live album recorded at the Village Vanguard in New York. He is joined by Seamus Blake, Kendrick Scott, Aaron Goldberg and Joe Martin; Goldberg and Martin also played on that recording. According to the festival, it will be his third visit to Badajoz, after 2003 and 2010.

Today's opening concert features French pianist Baptiste Trotignon, with Samuel F'Hima on double bass and Raphaël Chassin on drums, and it is the only one of the main concerts not held at the theatre.
The free events: afternoons, jam sessions and the street
Outside the theatre, Badejazz can be enjoyed without a ticket. On Thursday and Friday afternoons, at 18:00, there are concerts at El Espantaperros. The nights end at 23:00 in the theatre Cafetín with a concert and open jam session, and on Friday that session is the tribute to Gene García. On Saturday at 17:00, students from the jazz course at the Conservatorio Juan Vázquez play outside the theatre. In every case entry is free until capacity is reached, so it is best to arrive early.
Badejazz 2026 tickets and pass
Each 21:00 concert at the theatre costs €15 and the pass for all three costs €35. Tickets are sold on the Teatro López de Ayala website, with no booking fees and at the same price as at the box office on plaza de Minayo, which is open from 12:00 to 14:00 and from 19:00 to 21:00. Jazz course students pay €10, at the box office only. The theatre opens its doors half an hour beforehand and does not admit latecomers once the concert has started. Saturday's La Hora del Vermú has no tickets left.
