Festivals in Basque Country

Bizkaia is home to most of the festivals in the Basque Country, with Bilbao at its centre. There you will find Bilbao BBK Live, which takes over Kobetamendi in July with indie and pop; the rock and jazz of BBK Legends; the electronic music of Blackworks Festival in October; and Negufest Euskadi, which is spread between December and March. Sopela and Durango round out the province with rock events.

Rock is the most common style. In Vitoria-Gasteiz, Azkena Rock Festival brings it to Mendizabala in June, and Bat Batean blends it with punk in May. Donostia changes tack: Jazzaldia San Sebastián is devoted to jazz in July and Dantz Festival to electronic music in August, at the Anfiteatro de Miramón.
