Gijón Sound Festival now has its first names for 2027. On Wednesday the organisers announced Kula Shaker, Ellis·D, Cala Vento and Drugos for an edition that once again spreads concerts across the city from Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 April, and opened sales with launch prices.
Gijón Sound 2027 line-up: first confirmed acts
- Friday 16 April, marquee in the plaza del Ayuntamiento: Cala Vento and Drugos.
- Saturday 17 April, marquee in the plaza del Ayuntamiento: Kula Shaker and Ellis·D.
Cala Vento, the duo from the Empordà made up of Joan Delgado and Aleix Turon, have been on the road for just over a decade. Drugos are playing at home: they are an indie rock band formed in Gijón and based in Madrid who in 2026 released their third album, ‘Haz ruido mientras puedas’, produced by Nacho Mur of La M.O.D.A. On Saturday, before Kula Shaker, Ellis·D take the stage: the glam punk project of British musician Ellis Dickson, from Brighton.
The festival says it will gradually reveal the rest of the programme, which in previous editions spread across the city's venues, bars and squares.

Kula Shaker: 30 years of ‘K’
Crispian Mills's British band are celebrating the 30th anniversary of ‘K’ (1996), the album that took them to number 1 in the UK with songs such as ‘Govinda’, sung in Sanskrit, and ‘Tattva’. The tour accompanies ‘K-Reinkarnate’, an analogue re-recording of that album due out in February 2027. Gijón is one of the dates on their Spanish run in April.
The whole spring festival season is in the April to June 2027 festival calendar and, for anyone looking for more plans in the region, in the list of festivals in Asturias.
