In short
- The line-up is complete, with nine bands and Michael Schenker as the headliner, followed by Kee Marcello and Dare, and Girish and the Chronicles closing the night in place of Art Nation.
- General admission costs €60.50 including fees, and tickets for under-13s cost €33; the festival starts on Saturday 7 November at 18:30.
- Anyone arriving by AVE or Long Distance train can save 10% on their ticket, but only with the authorisation provided by the festival and on Renfe's Congresos/Eventos fare.
- The weekend kicks off on Friday with free gigs in León venues: Leather Boys and Xtasy at Espacio Vías, and Starbeast on Saturday at midday at the Babylon venue.
Michael Schenker has a gig in Barcelona on Wednesday 5 November and in Bilbao on Sunday 8, and in between he swaps the concert hall for a festival. On Saturday 7 November, the German guitarist headlines the fourth edition of Lion Rock Fest in León, a day of indoor melodic hard rock and AOR at the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones, with nine bands and tickets still on sale.
Lion Rock Fest 2026 line-up: Schenker, an ex-Europe member and Thin Lizzy's keyboard player
Michael Schenker Group arrives with Robin McAuley on vocals as part of its Don't Sell Your Soul Tour 2026. The Barcelona and Bilbao dates are separate concerts, with their own tickets; in León the band shares the night with eight acts from the same scene.
The other two big names look back to the eighties. Kee Marcello, Europe's guitarist on Out of This World and Prisoners in Paradise, comes with a set of songs by that band: that is how the line-up announces it, "Kee Marcello performs Europe". Dare is the band of Darren Wharton, who played keyboards in Thin Lizzy before founding it in 1985.
The only change came from the bottom of the bill and ended up at the top. On 8 October the festival announced that Swedish band Art Nation will not perform due to personal issues within the band, and their slot has been taken by Girish and the Chronicles, a hard rock band from Sikkim (India) founded in 2009, who according to the organisers will close the edition. They arrive two weeks before releasing Desintegrate, their new album, due out on 20 November.

The line-up is completed by Midnite City and Fighter V, two European melodic rock bands, and three Spanish groups: Xtasy, Pamplona's Starbeast and Lost Wingman. The organisers have not yet published the set times for each band; the only certainty about the running order is who closes.
Tickets: €60.50 general admission and €33 for under-13s
Official sales are on Ticketmaster, which is where the festival website sends you. As of 30 October there are two ticket types: general admission, at €60.50, and under-13s, at €33. Both prices include between €3 and €5.50 in booking fees, and the limit is ten tickets per purchase. ModoFestival may receive a commission if you buy through this link, at no extra cost to you.
Some gig listings advertise the festival "from €33": that is the price for under-13s, not for an adult.
The event starts at 18:30 on Saturday. It is an indoor venue, which counts for something in León in November.
How to get there by train with a 10% discount
The festival has an agreement with Renfe that takes 10% off AVE and Long Distance tickets. You have to do it in this order:
- Buy your festival ticket first.
- Fill in the form on the Lion Rock Fest discount page with your ticket's booking reference or code, which gives you an authorisation number.
- On renfe.com, choose your train and any of the ticket options (Básico, Elige, Elige Confort or Prémium), select the Congresos/Eventos fare from the drop-down menu and enter the number in the authorisation number box. It does not work in the discount code box.
The free warm-up: Friday at Espacio Vías and Saturday at Babylon
Anyone arriving on Friday has something to do. According to the announcement published by MariskalRock on 20 October, on Friday 6 Asturian band Leather Boys play from 21:00 at Espacio Vías, in a free concert closed by Xtasy, and afterwards Jason Cenador DJs rock from 23:30 at the Studio 54 venue, also with free entry. On Saturday 7 at 13:30, Starbeast open the day at the Babylon venue, for free, before playing again in the afternoon at the Palacio.
The rest of the month, from Mira to Monkey Week, is in the November 2026 festival guide. And anyone already thinking about summer has melodic hard rock nearby: Zurbarán Rock 2027 has announced Axel Rudi Pell and Tyketto for July in Burgos, for free. All the festival details are on the Lion Rock Fest page on ModoFestival.
