Reggaeton festivals in Spain

Reggaeton moves through branded festivals that are replicated from city to city. Puro Latino Madrid has editions in Sevilla, Torremolinos, Almería and El Puerto de Santa María; Negrita Music Festival Santander is repeated in San Javier, O Porriño, Salamanca and Simancas; and Boombastic Asturias has spin-offs in Gran Canaria and Estepona.

Most share their line-ups with urban music, and July is the most common month. By region, Madrid and the Mediterranean and Andalusian coasts, including Málaga, Alicante and Valencia, account for a large share of the events.

Beyond the touring brands, the calendar is spread across the summer and a handful of spring and autumn events. April opens with Modo Perreo Fest in A Coruña and Bresh Gran Canaria; Marenostrum, in Fuengirola, runs its programme from April to September and mixes reggaeton and pop.

August brings together coastal events such as Ola Fest in Mazarrón, Reggaeton Millennial Fest Alicante and Festival Color Latino, in Valencia. In September, Recorda Fest sets up at the Muelle de Batería in A Coruña and Nostalgia Milenial Fest combines reggaeton and pop in Sevilla; in October, the Madrid edition of Reggaeton Millennial Fest takes over the Autocine Madrid.

Inland, Bamboleo, in Villarrobledo (Albacete), and Aloha Festival, in the province of Cuenca, take the genre to the interior of the peninsula.
