Pixies have confirmed both their Spanish dates for 2027 on the same day, and both fall in the same week of July. The Boston band will play on Thursday 8 July at the Plaza de España in Sevilla, as part of Icónica Occident Sevilla Fest, and are on the first line-up of Bilbao BBK Live, which takes place from 8 to 10 July at Kobetamendi. Both announcements came on Friday 6 November.
Pixies at Icónica Sevilla: Thursday 8 July at the Plaza de España
The Icónica website lists the concert on 8 July 2027 and presents it as part of the celebration of the band's four-decade career; they turned 40 in 2026 with the world tour ‘Pixies 40’. The date is in July, not June, as some outlets reported. That same week, the Plaza de España hosts Noah Kahan on Wednesday 7 and Melendi on Friday 9.
Pixies formed in Boston in 1986, and their way of alternating quiet verses with full-volume choruses shaped much of 1990s alternative rock. Black Francis, Joey Santiago and David Lovering still lead the band, and ‘Where Is My Mind?’, the song the festival itself cites in its announcement, remains their best-known track.
Pixies at Bilbao BBK Live: Friday 9 or Saturday 10 July
In Bilbao, Pixies are one of the four names topping the first line-up for Bilbao BBK Live 2027, alongside The xx, Teddy Swims and The War On Drugs, in a batch of 38 artists. The festival has not yet announced the day-by-day schedule. Since the band will be in Sevilla on Thursday 8, their set at Kobetamendi will have to be on Friday 9 or Saturday 10, although the organisers have not yet said which.
Tickets: Bilbao already on sale, Sevilla opens on Tuesday 10
- Icónica Sevilla: tickets go on sale on Tuesday 10 November at 12:00 on the festival website. The price has not been published.
- Bilbao BBK Live: the three-day pass costs €175 plus fees on general sale and has been on sale since Friday on Fever, the festival's official ticketing platform. The Basque festival is not yet selling day tickets, so for now, to see Pixies in Bilbao, you have to buy the full pass.
Sevilla or Bilbao: what changes when seeing Pixies
Anyone going just for Pixies has the more concrete option in Sevilla: a fixed date, a single night and a ticket for that concert, although the price is still unknown. Bilbao requires, for now, a three-day pass and has no assigned day, but adds The xx, Teddy Swims, The War On Drugs, alt-J, Bonobo and Jack Johnson.
