In short

  1. Actual sold 1,000 blind passes on the same Monday it put them on sale: the first 500, at €40, in an hour and a half, and another 500 at €45 that same afternoon, so it has opened a third batch of 500.
  2. The pass covers the two nights of concerts on 2 and 3 January at the Palacio de los Deportes, not the rest of a festival that runs from 2 to 6 January and whose tickets will be sold separately.
  3. On Tuesday morning passes were still on sale at €45, although the organisers have not said how many are left or whether they will refund anyone who is not convinced by the line-up.
  4. The full programme will be announced in the coming weeks; for now the festival has only unveiled its new visual identity, which turns sound into shapes based on Chladni’s experiment.

No line-up announced and 1,000 passes sold in a single day. Actual 2027, the winter festival in Logroño, put its blind passes for the big concerts on 2 and 3 January on sale on Monday 26 October and had to open two more batches before the day was out. Anyone who missed out can still buy one for €45, without knowing who will play.

How the first 1,000 blind passes for Actual 2027 sold

Sales opened at 11:00 on Monday, coinciding with the presentation of the 37th edition. The first 500 passes, at €40, sold out before 12:30, according to the festival’s press release, which describes it as an all-time record in its history. The organisers then opened a second batch of 500 at €45.

That second batch also flew. At 17:19, the festival announced on Instagram that it had sold 1,000 blind passes and was releasing “another 500 so that nobody misses out on theirs”. elDiario.es La Rioja updated its report with that figure in mid-afternoon, and ActualidadRiojaBaja also reported the third batch. The official website, meanwhile, was still advertising the “second tier” at €45 on Tuesday.

The record has a close point of comparison. A year ago, with the same structure of 500 passes at €40 and a second batch at €45, the first batch for Actual 2026 took less than five hours to sell out, as ActualidadRiojaBaja reported at the time. This time an hour and a half was enough, and demand stretched to a third batch on the same day.

What the pass includes: two nights at the Palacio de los Deportes

The blind pass gives access to the big concerts on the Escenario UNIR, at the Palacio de los Deportes de La Rioja, on the nights of Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 January 2027. The ticketing platform lists doors opening at 20:00 and the first act at 21:00, and under-16s must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

It is worth not confusing this pass with the whole festival. Actual takes place from 2 to 6 January and spreads music, film, theatre and the arts across Logroño, with strands such as Escenario Insólito, which takes theatre to unusual spaces, and Hotel Actual, which will turn rooms at the Hotel Gran Vía into exhibition spaces. According to the festival, the website will open sales for the remaining tickets as each strand is announced. To keep up with those announcements, see the Actual page on ModoFestival.

Buying without a line-up: what we know and what we don’t

Early on Tuesday, the event page on Entradas.com, where the official website’s buy button leads, had the blind pass available at €45 and the €40 one marked as sold out. The price includes taxes, but the ticketing platform warns that a per-order service fee may be added, which is shown before payment.

What is missing is precisely what matters most in the decision. The organisers have not said how many passes are left from the last batch or whether they will refund anyone who buys blind and is then not convinced by the line-up. The general terms and conditions do not favour anyone who changes their mind either: tickets for dated events carry no right of withdrawal, as explained when we looked at the 2027 festivals selling out passes without a line-up.

On the plus side, the price is low for two nights of concerts: €45 works out at €22.50 per night, at the lower end of what passes for 2027 festivals cost. It is the same formula as Iruña Rock, which sold 500 blind passes at €40 and has already moved to €50. Buying makes sense for anyone who goes to Actual every year without looking at the line-up; anyone going for a specific band is risking €45 that they will not be on it.

A new identity before the line-up

What the Minister for Culture of the Government of La Rioja, José Luis Pérez Pastor, and the Director General of Culture, Roberto Iturriaga, did present on Monday was this edition’s identity, “Actual vibra”. It is the work of Óscar Ortega, of Mastrés, and is based on the experiment by physicist Ernst Chladni, who in the late 18th century made a sand-covered metal plate vibrate and watched the grains form different shapes depending on the frequency. The main poster combines four neon inks on a white background, and on the official website anyone can generate their own shapes with their voice, as Ortega explained to La Rioja.

The festival says it will unveil the full programme “in the coming weeks”. In the meantime, registration for Actual’s Guerra de Bandas remains open until 31 October; the prize is a concert at the 2028 edition. The 2026 edition, according to the organisers’ review reported by ActualidadRiojaBaja, drew more than 35,000 people with 97% occupancy.
