In short
- AIEnRuta turns a selection into a tour: the AIE books the chosen artists into live music venues across the country during the January to June 2027 cycle.
- The list brings together newcomers and established careers: from Jike, a Madrid-based quartet of 18-year-olds who have only released singles, to Pipo Romero, with four albums, via Mar Pujol, who released her second album on 16 October.
- Making the list means playing far from home: in the current cycle, the AIE’s schedule adds up to almost a hundred concerts in more than thirty cities, with stops at BIME and Monkey Weekend.
- The 2027 dates have not yet been published: the AIE will post them in its concert listings by city, and the selection for autumn 2027 is decided in March.
Twenty projects and one shared plan for the first half of 2027: playing away from home. The AIE, the Sociedad de Artistas Intérpretes o Ejecutantes, has chosen the artists for its AIEnRuta-Artistas circuit for the January to June cycle, a list that MondoSonoro revealed on 20 October and that the organisation is now publishing on its website. It includes julia de arco, who featured in the first instalment of Novedades emergentes in Cantera.
What AIEnRuta is and how to get in
AIEnRuta-Artistas is the AIE’s programme for bringing new artists to audiences through a circuit of live music venues spread across Spain. It works through open calls: acts sign up via an online form and a committee selects them twice a year, for a January to June cycle and a September to December cycle. The artists for this first 2027 cycle were chosen by the committee on 10 September, with submissions open until 28 August.
The committee is not made up of the AIE alone. It includes the programme’s partner bodies (the Community of Madrid, the ICEC of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Instituto Etxepare of the Basque Government), media outlets such as Radio 3, Enderrock, MondoSonoro, Escenarios, EFEEME, BIFM and NUEBO, and nine venue associations, from the national ACCES to Clubtura in Galicia and Madrid en Vivo. To make programming easier, the AIE divides the artists into seven categories: pop, rock, flamenco, singer-songwriter, folk, jazz and new music.
The AIE website does not specify how many concerts each artist gets or which costs the programme covers. According to MondoSonoro, the circuit has existed since 1995 and more than a thousand artists have passed through it, with 5,470 performances in more than five hundred venues in 142 cities. Albert Pla, Diego El Cigala and Vetusta Morla were among them.
The 20 selected artists: who they are and what they have just released
The AIE talks about ‘new talent’, but the list does not all start from the same place. Alongside acts with one or two EPs are long careers: Rambalaya was founded by the drummer of Los Mambo Jambo, Maloa Brothers features the singer of La Raíz and Pipo Romero has already released four albums. Here, emerging means ‘with room to grow on the venue circuit’ rather than ‘newly arrived’. The map is certainly broad: it runs from Santiago to Cádiz and from Bilbao to Barcelona, with stops in Burgos, Santa Engracia and Prats de Lluçanès.
Guitars, punk and noise
- La 126. A pop rock trio with a punk soul made up of Elia Sempere, Laura Giner and Lucía De Bunder. Their latest release is the EP ‘Todo puede pasar’ (10 September 2026), and their AIE profile announces a debut album with Mushroom Pillow.
- Las Petunias. A Madrid trio mixing punk rage and pop melodies. After the LP ‘Creo que soy de porcelana’ (2024), they released the EP ‘Ahí te pudras, maldita’ in November 2025.

- Memocracia. A punk, hardcore and rock band formed in Burgos in 2015. They recorded their new album, ‘Cada vez más cerca’ (8 October), with Santi García at Ultramarinos Costa Brava.
- Jike. A Madrid-based rock quartet whose members are 18, according to the AIE. Their AIE profile notes that the band’s most celebrated review says they sound ‘a bit like Extremoduro with ADHD’. Latest single: ‘Recordatorio’ (22 September).
- Dogo. A trio from Santiago de Compostela singing in Galician somewhere between post-punk and shoegaze. Their first EP, ‘Brutalismo’, came out in June 2025, and according to the AIE they are working on their debut full-length and ‘Vandalismo’, remixes of that EP made by friends.
Song, folk and roots
- Mar Pujol. A singer-songwriter from Prats de Lluçanès who sings in Catalan. Her first album, ‘Cançons de rebost’, won the 2025 Enderrock critics’ award for best singer-songwriter album, and her second, ‘D'aquesta aigua no en beuré’, came out on Hidden Track on 16 October.
- IXEYA. A duo from Santa Engracia (Zaragoza) made up of Eli López and Myriam Carbonell, who play acoustic folk in Aragonese and Spanish. Their mini-album ‘2Hermanas’ was named best EP of 2023 at the Premios de la Música Aragonesa.
- Pipo Romero. A guitarist from Cádiz born in 1983 who reinterprets Iberian and Atlantic folk traditions on steel-string acoustic guitar. He presented his fourth album, ‘Alborada’ (October 2025), at the 2025 WOMEX fair in Tampere.
- Musgö. A harpist and singer from Cádiz working between pop, folk and electronica. She released ‘La grieta’ in November 2025, was selected for the Girando por Salas circuit and, according to the AIE, has a new album due in early 2027.

Pop, electronica and the dance floor

- Dani DiCostas. A singer and songwriter from Vigo born in 1998, working between classic pop and French chanson. Her third album, ‘Amores pasajeros’, came out in January, and on 2 October came ‘En mi cabeza’, a song with La Casa Azul.
- Blanco Palamera. A Galician duo of Manu Blanco and Xoán Domínguez, who is also the drummer for Rusowsky, Judeline and Ralphie Choo. They blend pop, electronica and R&B on ‘bIIIp’, the twelve-track album they released in May.
- Bele. The project of San Sebastián’s Lide Hernando, who has toured as a backing singer and guitarist for Fermin Muguruza. On her second album, ‘Muturrez Zerura’ (November 2025), she swapped the soul and R&B of her first for eighties disco and funk.
- Janus Lester. Jokin Pinatxo, from Bera (Navarre), sings in Basque between pop, folk and electronica. On 19 October he released ‘POPERA’ and, according to the AIE, he will gradually unveil the follow-up to ‘Lore’ (2024).

- Maloa Brothers. A hip hop trio from Bilbao featuring Julio Maloa, singer of La Raíz. Their first album, ‘Dos caras, un fuego’ (November 2025), mixes hip hop and reggae in Basque, Spanish, Portuguese and Valencian.
- Rambalaya. A Barcelona rhythm and blues band founded by Anton Jarl, drummer of Los Mambo Jambo. Their latest album is ‘Siete’ (May 2026).
Why making the list matters
What AIEnRuta offers, above all, is the chance to play far from home, and the current cycle, running from September to December 2026, gives an idea of the scale. The schedule published by the AIE brings together almost a hundred dates, with most artists playing between four and seven concerts, in more than thirty cities: from El Sol and Maravillas in Madrid to the Gong venue in Oviedo, Loco Club in Valencia and small venues in Muxía, Viveiro and Antequera. Some dates fall within festivals, such as BIME in Bilbao, Fira Mediterrània in Manresa, Fira Trovam in Castellón and Monkey Weekend in El Puerto de Santa María.
The selection also gets airplay on public radio. Carlos Igual presents songs by AIEnRuta artists on the first Monday of every month on Radio 3’s ‘Hoy empieza todo’, and talks about the circuit on other programmes on the station; songs from the cycle can also be heard on RNE’s ‘Entre dos luces’.
When and where to see them
There is no schedule yet. The AIE has not published the concerts for the January to June 2027 cycle; when it does, they will appear in its AIEnRuta concert listings, which can be searched by city and warn that dates may change.
Some already have their own dates in 2027. Cervatana are on the line-up of EN VIVO festival, taking place on 4 and 5 June at the Ciudadela de Pamplona with Los Delinqüentes and Tremenda Jauría. Tickets are on sale on the festival website and on Fever. ModoFestival may receive a commission if you buy through this link, at no extra cost to you.
For anyone who wants to try their luck in the next call, registration is via the AIEnRuta-Artistas page, and the artists for the September to December cycle are chosen in March. Selected artists who release new music in the coming months will have a place in upcoming instalments of Cantera.
